How To Motivate People To Buy

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

What motivates the people who visit any website to buy?

This is the one question that every Internet Marketer is seeking the answer to. If you know how to motivate people to buy, then you can increase your sales and your conversion rate. And wouldn’t that be good for your profit and your business?

So what motivates people to buy?

It is often said that you should give people what they need, because that is what they are going to buy. That may well have been the case once but sadly today society has changed and people no longer buy what they need.

Instead they buy what they want and what they crave – hence people struggling to put food on the table, but have a 42” plasma TV, satellite system and a bottle of Jack Daniels!

You need to pitch your product not as something they need, but as something they absolutely must have; make it so they crave your product and absolutely must get their hands on it.

People also buy because they want to get pleasure from what they buy. Someone doesn’t walk into a car dealership and buy a top of the range Mercedes because they need it; a Skoda or Toyota would have done the job just as well.

They buy the Mercedes because they want the pleasure that goes with it. Whether this is the comfort of the car, the joy of all the gadgets, or the fact that it is a status symbol – they drive a Mercedes! Whatever their reason it will be because they have associated pleasure with owning a Mercedes and so they buy one when they could have saved tens of thousands of dollars and bought a cheaper car!

Another reason people buy is because they want to avoid pain. Volvo are one of the best selling cars in Europe. Why? They are not the prettiest of cars, nor that expensive, nor are they of the perceived class of a Jaguar, BMW or Mercedes.

Volvo’s sell well because people want to avoid the pain associated with car accidents. Volvo’s are some of the safest cars on the market and as such appeal to people who want to protect their family and passengers.

These are three of the main ways that people are motivated to buy. If you can work out how to use this in your sales copy, your emails, your newsletter and your website, then you can convert more visitors into paying customers.

Identify your target market and learn their pain – what problem are you solving for them with your product?

Understand this and your sales copy can become smoking hot and you can boost your conversion rate!

The Power Of Backlinks

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

As an Internet Marketer you want to collect as many links as you can to your website so that it appears to be an authority on the subject for the search engines. Search engine traffic is considered by many to be “free” traffic. It’s not like pay per click (PPC) or other types of traffic where you are paying for people to visit your site. Anyone that finds you through a search engine is really a free visitor! And if they buy from you, then that means they are free money too!

Getting a high ranking in the search engines is considered by many to be a black art, with the search engine geeks trying to keep one step ahead of the search engine optimization gurus. With the continual changes in search engine technology it is very difficult to keep up to date with them and to keep your site optimized and ranking high.

This is why backlinks actually work out to be one of the most effective search engine optimization techniques on the market. They are cheap, quick to develop, and long lasting. They are also not likely to ever be completely penalised by the search engines. Yes, certain types of links or links to certain sites may detract from your search engine ranking, but quality backlinks will always be good for your website and your business.

A backlink is effectively a link from another site to your own. Here we are talking about one way links, i.e. they link to your site, but you do not reciprocate. This holds more value in the eyes of the search engine and benefits you much more.

There are a lot of different ways to get backlinks to your website, including:

Articles – submit articles to the article directory and the resource box will contain a link to your website – a free backlink!

Directory entries – every niche will have at least several hundred directories of sites that are relevant to that niche. Get yourself listed in all of these, and you have lots of free backlinks!

3 way link exchange – unlike traditional reciprocal link exchanges where two sites point to each other, this is a slightly more cunning way which is meant to fool the search engines. It does mean one of the link partners needs two websites though. Website A links to Website B which links to Website C. Person A owns Websites A and C and Person B owns Website B. To the search engines, these appear as one way links (at the moment! There is talk of the search engines wising up to this).

Forums – posting in forums is yet another method of getting your link seen. If you participate in the forum discussion then usually you can have a link to your site in your signature file. Remember though that you must add value and not just blatantly promote your website or post to get your signature file shown as this will result in bad will towards you and eventual blacklisting and banning

Blogs – putting comments on blogs is another way to get backlinks. However, be aware that if you are not adding value with your comment it may well be considered spam and then deleted and blacklisted. So don’t just post “great entry”, writing something that is useful and appropriate.

Backlinks are surprisingly easy for you to acquire with a little bit of work. If you don’t want to do the work yourself then you can very easily hire someone who will do it on your behalf, though make sure they will be ethical about it!

With backlinks you can boost your search engine rankings and get yourself free traffic, which means free money when they buy your product!

Finding The Next Million Dollar Idea

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

There are thousands and thousands of million dollar ideas out there. Sadly many of them never see the light of day. However, how can you find these ideas, and more importantly, how can you capitalize on them?

The first thing to do is to research the idea. Obviously keep your cards close to your chest and don’t tell everyone about your idea, but do some research into competing products, the market and how to get your idea to market.

For example, is there anything in the market already that is similar or the same as your idea? If there is, can you develop your idea without infringing on their patents or copyright? Is your idea an enhancement of an existing product? Would the company that currently makes that product be interested to license your idea or can you develop the product yourself and get it to market?

If your idea is a completely new product, then you need to ask yourself if there is in fact a market for it. If it is a completely new idea, why isn’t there anything on the market already? It might be that there is actually no market there, or at least no one willing to spend any money.

When it comes to looking for ideas there are four main methods that I can recommend to you.

Firstly, go to Amazon and look at what is popular there. Amazon is one of the most visited sites on the Internet and is a powerful research tool if you know how to use it. See what people are buying and what they are selling. This will give you an idea of topics and subjects that are of interest to people. Perhaps one of these will spawn that million $$$ idea?

Secondly, visit Ebay. Another of the most popular sites on the Internet, you can often see trends developing on Ebay and discover popular niche markets very easily. Look at the top selling products in each category to determine what people want to get hold of. You can even look at how well things similar to your ideas are selling to understand if there is a market for it.

Thirdly, check out forums on the niche you are looking to work in. See what people are talking about and discover what questions they have and what problems they need solving. This will give you some great ideas for products that could net you a quick dollar or two.

Finally, do a Google on the idea or niche to see what comes up. Google has more web pages indexed than I can count and is an amazing source of information. Go through the first ten to twenty pages of sites to see what is out there. Again, you might find ideas, your might find information. Whatever you do find though, it will be useful.

Before you pour your money and effort into a product you must research it and make sure that it is going to be profitable for you. Use the techniques outlined above, and you may find you spot the next million $$$ idea!

Boost Your Sales With Articles

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

You will hear a lot of buzz about articles throughout the Internet Marketing community, but what is the truth about using articles and how can you use them for your benefit?

I believe that articles are an extremely powerful method of marketing and creating one way links to your website. There is talk in the search engine optimisation community that having two way links, particularly to irrelevant sites can damage your standings in the search engines. Therefore, articles are perhaps more important than ever because they create one way links which makes your site look much more important to the search engines.

Boosting your sales with articles starts with you writing the article.

When writing the article there are a few key points you ought to keep in the forefront of your mind:

1) Quality – one aim of the article if to establish you as an expert, so make sure the article is high quality.

2) Interest – make the article grab the readers attention and want them to read the rest of your article; make it lively and entertaining.

3) Paint a picture – use your words to paint a picture in your readers minds – make them see and feel what you are telling them.

4) Desire – use your words to create desire in your readers so they click your link and buy your product.

This four step formula will really help to boost your sales as people read your articles and click through to your sites.

The next step is to submit the article to article directories. Now you can do this manually if you like, though it is likely to be a slow and painful process. Your other options are to use some form of article submission software or to hire someone to do it for you.

Whichever method you choose, the submission of the articles will create you one way links to your website.

It also means that website and newsletter owners can see your articles and pick them up as content to use. This, of course, gives you exposure to a whole new potential customer base and again, will boost your sales.

And of course, you can use the articles on your own website as content. This provides you with fresh content for your website (which the search engines love), and establishes you as an authority because you have written articles. You may even want to use them as blog entries if you would like.

Finally, you can submit your articles to off-line publications for consideration. Having an article printed in a newspaper or magazine will really help to establish your credibility and drive traffic to your website. You may even get paid for the article, but if you don’t then the free exposure is well worth the lack of payment.

Having well written, high quality articles that make your readers want to find out more will help to boost your sales and establish you as an expert in your field. Write your articles, submit them and enjoy the rewards that you will get.

How can I compete with Stone Evans ?

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

Whatever niche you decide to enter online, you are going to encounter competitors. There may well be unexploited niches on the Internet, but they are probably not profitable and so not worth your while getting involved in.

One question that often preys on the mind of Internet Marketers, particularly new ones, is “How can I compete with the king of Marketers, Stone Evans."

You don’t actually have to compete with him, you just need to stand out from the crowd and compete with everyone else competing with him! You don’t necessarily need to be the dominant force in your chosen niche. Quite often being in the top ten is enough to have a good income without working too hard.

I always teach the people I coach that they need to go out and find twenty of their major competitors. They need to subscribe to their newsletters, read their websites and pay attention to what appears in their inbox.

Why? Because you need to understand what they are doing.

If you can find out what they are doing well, then you can emulate it and adapt it for your own personal slant on the niche. You can also, of course, discover what they are not doing very well.

If you know what they are doing badly, then that is an opportunity for you to get into the market place. You can even use it as a selling point in your sales copy that you “do this better”. Of course, you never mention anyone by name, but you can make a point of mentioning that particular area and how you perform so well in it.

It gives you a chance to get a bit of an edge, particularly if your competitor has put their business on auto-pilot and not updated their product or website. The Internet is changing almost daily, and so products very quickly go out of date and the information in them becomes not as fresh or useful.

You can therefore capitalise on this and make it a selling point – something that differentiates you from your competitors and gives your market a powerful reason to buy from you. People always want the most up to date and newest information and are often willing to pay a premium price for it.

Understanding your competition gives you a fine handle on the market, from pricing through to promotion. Scout out your competition, see what they are doing and decide how you can do it better – and then enjoy the benefits of your research!

Are Link Exchanges Harming Your Business ?

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

Many of the top search engine optimization gurus tell us that we must perform link exchanges and lots of them in order to reach the top of the search engines.

But is this still true?

Once if certainly was the case and that was enough to get yourself ranked highly. Nowadays, with the huge rise in Internet usage and websites, the search engines have wised up to this and have complex algorithms for working out your ranking. These are, of course, a closely guarded secret known to a few geeks on the inside, and guessed at by those on the outside.

Many of the search engine optimization experts are now telling us to be wary of link exchanges and to consider the following key points

1) Link farms – if your link is in what the search engines classify as a link farm then it could harm your ranking. A link farm is typically a site full of links, or a page with a high number of links on them. If the link farm is organised into categories with only a couple of dozen of relevant links per page, then it is less likely to harm your ranking.

2) Irrelevant sites - if your website is focused on children then having link exchanges with pharmacy and gambling sites could well harm your rankings because they are not really relevant. Having links to other children’s sites and sites related to children are possible much better for your rankings and will give your website more relevancy.

3) Anchor text – the words that link from another site to yours are actually quite relevant to your search engine ranking. If the words “hello stranger” were a hyperlink to your site then it wouldn’t really do you much good unless your site was about strangers. However, if your site was about children and your main keyword was “good parenting” and you had links from other sites with the words “good parenting” being the hyperlink, this will be looked upon favourably by the search engines

When you are exchanging links with anyone, it is worth your while being discerning about the links. Yes, I know you want as many links as possible, but you should consider the relevancy of the links to your visitors, and also what your visitors would think of those links being on your site. If you had a site full of children’s games and educational material and then lots of links to adult related sites, how keen do you think parents would be for their children to visit your sites?

Always check out if a site you are linking to has an affiliate program. If they do, then it is worth you signing up for it and putting the affiliate link on your site. Why? Because then when someone follows the link and buys, you get paid for it!

By keeping your link exchanges relevant you can increase your standing in the search engines and give your readers valuable extra resources.

Affiliates equals free time and money

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

One reason many people get into Internet Marketing is so that they can have more free time. However, many people find themselves sinking more and more time into their online business before they realise that they have exchanged one job chained to a desk for another, chained to a computer.

Is it really possible that you can get more free time through Internet Marketing? All the big names tell us it is possible, but how can it happen?

Well firstly, you can pay someone else to do the web designing, search engine optimization and so on. However, for some of us, that may not be practical. Oftentimes people start an Internet business because they don’t have a lot of money and need a cheap and effective way to get their business up and running.

It is entirely possible to earn money whilst doing nothing with Internet marketing. Firstly, if you have automated your website and it is ranking high in the directories then it will run on auto-pilot.

However, you may not be high in the search engines yet and need other ways to put your business on auto-pilot.

One of the best methods I know of is to set up an affiliate program. This allows other people to promote your product and be paid a commission for each sale. If they don’t make any sales, they don’t get any commission. Obviously, you need to pay them enough commission to make it worth their while. A few dollars as the commission level is not going to motivate anyone for anything, so you may need to offer 40%, 50% of even higher depending on your business and product strategy.

This kind of percentage will get your potential affiliates much more excited about selling your product. Be wary though of raising the price of your product in order to make up the affiliate payment. You may end up pricing yourself out of the market and making no sales!

There are many different options for running an affiliate program. You can host the software on your web server and run if from there, or you can pay a monthly fee for someone else to host it for you. You could also join a program such as Paydotcom or Clickbank that handle everything for you, and all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the profits.

In fact, for many marketers, Clickbank is a real favourite because it truly allows you to automate your business! They handle everything for you – taking payment, paying the affiliate and paying you, allowing you to really put your business on auto-pilot and achieve the elusive dream of making money whilst you sleep.

Affiliates do equal more free time and more money. They will promote your product for you, earn you money, with minimal effort on your behalf. Investigate today how you can run your own affiliate program and benefit from this fantastic leverage on your time and resources.

Top 5 Product Promotion Strategies

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

One of the biggest myths of the Internet is the good old line, “If you build it they will come …” So many people throw up a website and sit back rubbing their hands with glee convinced they are going to become supremely wealthy.

Months later they are wringing their hands with regret wondering why they’ve had five visitors, four of which were their friends!

A website does not just automatically appear high in the search engine rankings and get traffic, you have to do some work in order to get this traffic and start making sales. There are thousands, or even more of sites competing for the same traffic you want – depending on your niche and keywords, there could be millions of sites!

You need to promote your website and get it noticed – not only in the search engines, but in other places where you will get targeted traffic who are interested in your website.

Strategy 1 - Directories

There are a whole host of directories on the Internet. Just search for your keyword and “Directory” or “Link Exchange” or anything similar and you will find hundreds of places to put your links. Yeah, it is hard work to do this, but you will get links and traffic to your site. If it’s too much like hard work for you – hire someone to do it!

Strategy 2 - Articles

Articles are an excellent way to gain traffic and promote your site. Submitting your article to directories will get you backlinks and if they are quality articles, will get you known across the Internet as an expert. Newsletter and website owners will pick up your articles and use them as content. This will help to promote your site to a much wider audience.

Strategy 3 – Affiliate Program

Running an affiliate program for your product is an excellent way to promote your site. Instead of you working on promoting your site, you have all these affiliates doing the work for you. And the best thing is – you don’t pay them a penny unless they make a sale. Depending on how much you offer as a commission, you could have hundreds of hungry affiliates aggressively marketing your product all over the Internet.

Strategy 4 – Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is a concept that has been around for some time. It’s a very powerful method of getting traffic to your site. You have all seen those cute or funny emails and videos that people send to all their friends? That is viral marketing. If you can tap into this through a book, a video, games or anything people will want to pass on to their friends, suddenly you have a whole lot of people promoting your site – for free!

Strategy 5 – Forums

Forums are an excellent way to market your website. As you participate in a forum so you can establish yourself as an authority and trusted expert on your chosen subject, which will make people come to visit your website to find out more information. Be aware though, that if you blatantly promote your business without adding value or spam the forums you will do more harm than good to your reputation and your business.

Promoting your website will get you targeted traffic. It will also allow you to organically move up the search engine rankings through backlinks and the use of keywords. If you are someone who is serious about making money online, then you need to start taking your website promotion seriously. Remember though – spam and other unethical practises will harm your business in the long term. Promote your site ethically and responsibly, and you can be reaping the rewards for years to come.

10 Powerful List Building Techniques

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

The lifeblood of any Internet marketer is their list. If you have an opt in email list then you are sitting on piles of cash, if you properly use your list then your earning potential is very high.

As many people ask "How do I build a list?" the following points describes some of the best ways for building your email list.

1) Newsletter / E-zine

We are in the Information Age and so people are desperate for information. Everyone is so busy with their lives they don’t have time to find the information for themselves. Publish a newsletter in your niche that is full of valuable content and you will get people flocking to you to sign up.

2) E-Courses

People are hungry for information, so a free e-course will persuade people to part with their email address. Create at least a seven part course that is delivered every few days into their inbox. Of course, the e-course also subtly sells your product!

3) Articles

Write articles and distribute them to article directories. Include your newsletter sign up in the resource box and if you have provided good quality content, you will get the visitors who will sign up to learn more.

4) Free Books

A free e-book is an excellent way to build your list. It doesn’t have to be an epic tome, just valuable information that people will exchange their email address for. You can write one yourself or get one ghostwritten for you. Make sure though that it is information that your visitors will want to have, and make sure you have included links to your products and sites in the book. You can also include affiliate links to further maximise your earnings.

5) Free Membership Site

Creating a free membership site is an excellent way to get people’s email addresses. Offer valuable content for free but only to signed up members. You can then upsell them other products or other levels of membership with more products and more resources available to them.

6) Squeeze Page

A squeeze page is a pre-sales letter page where you capture a person’s email address before they move on to view your sales letter. This is reportedly very effective and you can also personalise the sales letter with their name or other details from the squeeze page.

7) Pop Up

Pop up windows, particularly unique and different windows, can be very effective at persuading people to sign up for your newsletter. These can either pop up as the visitor enters your site, or when they leave, reminding them to sign up for more information.

8) Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is where you give away something of value that people want to pass to all their friends. It may be a video, a book, a game or anything similar. However, whatever it is, it has your web address in it so people can come and sign up to your newsletter and get more info.

9) Free Giveaways

A very popular new method of list building are the big Internet giveaways where lots of people submit products that are available for free in exchange for a newsletter sign up. These are excellent ways to rapidly build your list – though be aware that freebie seekers may not make for the most responsive of lists.

10) Sign up bonuses

Offer your visitors a bonus if they sign up for your newsletter, e.g. “20% off XYZ for readers” or a number of e-books or reports that will be of interest to them.

Using these 10 simple strategies you can build your list and then leverage their earning power.

Writing press releases

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

Now that you have a brand new and fresh web site that you will be putting in circulation in the very near future, the next step you will need to take is advertising for this site to make a huge impression on the market. How does one go about writing a strong press release for an impending site introduction? You are not alone if you are unsure on how to go about this, but there are a few suggestions to get you started, here are some that have been successful in the past.

Remember the one fact to keep in mind is that you are going to need the public’s attention, on this media release it is extremely important to remember the fact that the news sells. What you need is a very convincing line in communication to get your message across. If an editor finds material that is counterfactual and deliberately untrue or promises that are just not reasonably accepted, they will rubbish the media release. Some of the most frequent are, one of a kind, changing the face of the world, or everyone wins. The entire premise is to act and think like a reporter to get the word out in that media format. If the release is not in a journalistic format, it will not be taken in earnest.

A good measure would be to make the title around ten words, keep it short to grasp attention. A brief summary of the information should be in the headline, and should be powerful and hard-hitting. You are trying to reach the mass public; it should be as wide as a roadside sign or billboard. The best way to get a good review is to have the editor notice your release above all others, this can be done in just a few words. Just like all good journalists know the most effective and important part of the release is always the opening paragraph. This can be referred to as the summary lead. It is always the most essential element of any release that you incorporate the familiar 5 W’s of journalism, and not to eliminate the single and most influential H. who, what, when, where, and the single how are the mainstay in quality information that everyone truly looks for when reading a release. It is imperative on this note to embrace them.

This is the body of the information with the introduction and the closing statements surrounding this bulk. It is the introduction that leads the readers down the path of yearning for more on the subject so it must be dynamic. This opening paragraph is what is known as the hook. This hook not only has to seize the audience’s attention but the press and the editor as well.It is not always an effortless task when Writing press releases. The hook in every sense of the word is strictly fact and not a system of persuasion to the multitude.

Weekend Internet Entrepreneur

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

So you have your monotonous run of the mill everyday job, you deal with bosses, co-workers, and the general daily routine that can easily get to the point of near derangement. This is where the part time or weekend Internet entrepreneur comes into play. This is where you will become your own boss, and the only rules that apply, entail you making as much money and getting as much exposure as possible.

The people that run headfirst into an online marketing business, with wild expectations are surely heading for a very rude awakening. It is an unrealistic and often a unfounded mindset that many people fall into. The idea of not having to do any work on the business once the website is set up is simply ridiculous. There is however a difference between being naive, and being a full-blown idiot. Any one that believes the money will just cascade in while they do nothing to improve their site or any work at all for that matter, is naïve. The person that just doesn’t want to work at all, on this enterprise or otherwise, and expects money to just fall into their laps, is indeed the full-blown idiot.

Would it not be nice to have a reservoir of customers that are completely engrossed with what it is you have to offer? Clearly the way to go is to create and control markets rather than chase after them and hope to sell what it is you need to get rid of. There is no easier medium to promote your goods to the public than the Internet, and it’s web based marketing services. When someone looks at their browser to find a solution, or a place to find what it is they need, it is your site you want them to go to. The good marketers will want to have the solutions, and the product for every need anyone could ever have. Now this is clearly not realistic, however, the idea of it does have its merits. What I am getting at is very simple, what people want is what you should be willing to sell.

Sometimes certain circumstances don't go your way, this is a proven fact through all life's endeavors, and the ones that want to make it and be successful do not just roll over and give up. Not everything goes as planned in business, yet there are ways to make it happen. Many do after facing major problems; you just have to train yourself to believe you will too. The object of this information is for you to become more than just a dreamer, rather a producer of what it is you see and want for yourself. This is not unrealistic, nor is it unreasonable to ask. You know you have as much right as the next person to succeed, the difference is all boiling down to wanting it, and not merely dreaming of it. This is truly a skill that most of us have to learn, some have a natural talent for it but the ones that need instruction can relax knowing it is not an impossible task. What exactly you may ask entails staying power? Well it is a healthy mixture of dedication, consistency, endurance, and perseverance, and sometimes a little bit of luck.

New Web Site Promotion

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

What do you do when you have a brand new shiny web site, and no way of promoting it? Well for starters you could hold an online press conference. This is actually a very simple process. You will either hire a professional to write out a web press release and have it reviewed by an editor, or you can be brave and take your chances by writing it yourself. When you decide to do it yourself you take a great risk of being either very disappointed, or shut down entirely.

There are other ways of promoting your new web site however; you could always go the route of affiliation. This is a good method of not only promoting your new site, but an easy fashion of making some quick money as well. How this works is you sign up for an affiliation to a site, generally you will want to find a site that has some relevance to the site you are trying to promote. When ever someone goes to the site you are affiliated with, and they link on to your site by pay per click method it takes them to your site and right into the thick of your content. This can be the unfortunate part, whenever someone clicks onto your site from your affiliate; you end up paying the affiliate for the transfer of sites. Although this could easily be a very small fee to the affiliate, the point to remember is if they come and you pay the affiliate, there is no guarantee that they will buy from you.

This could easily become a very costly endeavour if you are getting many time wasters, and no buyers. This is where you will be paying for people to view but not pay. As you know this is no way to conduct a business. Sometimes people go to the extent of hiring a service that guarantees web traffic. This service states that they can increase traffic to your site, or generate hits if you like. The problem with this theory however, is that you cannot guarantee anything, you can never be sure that you will ever generate traffic, let alone sales. This is in no way to say that the program that they offer is a complete waste of time and money, it is just that absolutely no organization or single person alike can truly guarantee that they can generate traffic for you to the point that you will see successful results on your site.

Which leads back to the first mentioned thought, is it not worth the time, money, and effort, to ensure that you are getting the best exposure for your site? Don’t waste your money, time, and sanity wondering whether or not you will receive this exposure to your site. Go get it yourself.

Home Business Network Marketing

Network marketing is not always as simple for everyone. There are individuals who are very natural at talking with others and find it quite easy to be in a room full of strangers and talk about what they have to offer. Then there are those who are terrified of the very idea of network marketing and having to talk to anyone about anything. Network marketing does not have to be a unpleasant experience for you and you do not have to have a panic attack at the thought of attending one. When you prepare for network marketing and do not go in with your eyes closed, you will find that it will make an enormous difference in the productivity of your business. Network marketing can be beneficial in building a Reservoir of resources and contacts that you can have at your fingertips to propel your business forward.

If you do not have a briefcase, it would be wise to purchase one. In your briefcase, you can keep your business cards, brochures, and informative documents about your business and other items that you can use to talk to others about what you have to offer. Keep your briefcase with you at all times, especially when you go to events to network.

Decide in advance how many people you want to talk to and do just that. If it is your first time, you may only want to talk to three people. Although once you are there, you will probably find yourself relaxing and notice that you came home with more than three contacts. Do not forget the business cards of the people you meet. In the excitement, you may forget their names. It is a good idea to write down some relevant information on the back of the card to help you remember why or why not you like that particular contact.

One way to get to know those who come to the event is to volunteer to greet people as they come in. You are the first person they meet and then you can go up to them during the meeting with some ground under your feet and not feel so uncomfortable.

Being a good listener is the key to being good at networking. If you spend all your time talking about yourself and how good you are and very little time listening to them you will be wasting your energy. Remember, people like to talk about themselves and if you let them they will, and they will leave the event thinking how much they enjoyed talking to you and will remember you. This is also an excellent way to obtain information about them and the business they have to offer.

Wholesale Marketing Business

http://www.HomeGrail.com

Now you have made the decision that you want to get into the wholesale marketing business, it is now time to start making some money, this is great as it is one of the fastest growing industries on the net, actually it is one of the fastest growing industries period. So, what have you decided to sell? Have you figured this part out yet?, or are you still up in the air with this one? There are some very important things to consider when going into wholesale Internet marketing, capital is a huge issue, but the biggest issue seems to be the storage and product capacity problems. Do your research first and gather all the information you can, try to find out what seems to be working for other people who are working in the same kind of business.

Have you ever considered selling a product that people collect? What about sports cards? This is a very big market, and you could easily find some storage space in even a modest sized home for the product to be shipped in mass quantity. This is a market that is really taking off; there are people in every walk of life that collects these sports cards. From football cards to baseball cards the product is still the same, small and easy to store until it is sold and shipped. You see the problem with choosing a large-scale item such as clothing, or stereo equipment, means that you will need adequate space to store it until you ship it. If you are just starting out, renting a storage space for the product makes for a certain drop in your profits. Not to mention the insurance you will want to take out to keep you and your wholesalers business safe, in the event of fire or theft.

This is why smaller items that are still popular may be the best bet for positive results and a chance to keep all of your profits. The option is there for the wholesaler to keep the product at their storage facility until the sale is final, and it is even possible for them to ship the item to the customer saving you the trouble. The major problem with this is, everything that the wholesaler has to do such as storing and shipping the items eats away at your profits. If they store it, they will charge you for the use of space. and if they ship it for you, they will ship it the way they want to regardless if that ends up costing you more, either way it matters not to them. This is because it will come out of your share in the end. This then takes you from a legitimate business partner to a simple run of the mill salesperson without most of the perks.
When starting your wholesale marketing business maybe it really is better to think small.

Work at home business tips

Copyright © Vincent Murphy
http://www.HomeGrail.com

There are so many people who dream about working from home and being their own boss these days. Just step out of bed and drink their morning coffee while pondering through their e-mails. There would be no commuting, no one to distract you, and your focus would be total. It's not quite as simple and straight forward as that. Being solely in charge of yourself and your time is not as easy as you might think. The over confidence and surprise of unexpected issues can cause enormous stress and confusion. There is also the problem of being able to self-motivate without the pressure of the manager on your back. Many people find themselves more distracted and less productive when left to their own devices. When you work from home you are responsible for managing your own time.
To organize yourself better and get more done try the following tips to successful time management as your own boss.

1. Make sure you have a separate work area in your home. This does not mean that you have to have a complete office in a private room. Just make sure you have a desk and all your accessories in a corner of one room. This will be your defined work area and everything you need should be in reach.

2. Understand how you work best. You really need to find the best place in your home that will make you the most productive. Make sure you are comfortable but not distracted by outside influences.

3. Be mentally ready to take on specific tasks. Make sure to plan your workday to fit your energy level. Be realistic on what you can accomplish. If you are a morning person then do the hardest things in the morning hours. Make sure to value your personal commitments too, these will give the breaks you will need to clear your head and get you energized.

4. Make sure you have the time to accomplish tasks by setting specific business time hours. Most people just figure that because you are at home you are available. This is not true. Interruptions are the biggest problems with the self-employed. Make sure that everyone knows when you are working and not to call by phone or in person. Put the hours you are available to and from on your website to allow customers to know when you will be there physically. Also let friends and anyone not business related know that during this time frame you will not be available for social calls.
You must realize that this way of working takes a lot of negotiating, planning, and prioritizing. No matter what you do you will get that personal call or drop in while you are trying to work. You will also get that business call or e-mail after your specified hours. It happens to everyone. Don’t stress out. Take the emergency approach. If this is a personal or business emergency deal with it immediately. If it is something that can wait till an appropriate time then kindly let the person know.
